A nice medium fleece of mixed grey colors, fairly free of VM, largely 3″ in length so suitable for carding but a little too short for combing.

This fleece shows the mixture of ecru and grey found in the fawn colouring. I’ll try to card and spin some to show what it looks like processed. It will certainly not have the white brilliance of a pure white fleece.

I’ve included this small bit of fawn lamb fleece both to show the color mixture, but also to show a problem we encountered with some of the fleeces from the 2014 lamb crop. It appears the birth coat matted around the tips of a large number of locks.  You can see a quite lovely lamb fleece absolutely marred by often darker fiber holding the lock tips together. Most of the fleeces with this problem I skirted severely, but did hold on to some to see if anything could be done with at least some small portions of really soft and lovely lamb fleeces.

Fairly dark grey with some brown tips, 4-5″ in length so suitable for combing. Note that the wire blocks of the skirting table are 1″ squares.

This is the whitest our fleeces come.  There is a little VM in this fleece, the worst of it was concentrated in the neck area which I skirted into a small separate bag. Mostly 2-3″ locks so I’d call it suitable for carding.

A lovely colored dark grey lamb fleece with nice luster.  There is some matting on some tips, but not excessive.
